Rachel Smith
Senior Lecturer
The University of Sheffield
Rachel is a senior lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield. Rachel specialises in particle-fluid and particle-particle interactions, and using understanding of these interactions to develop, design, model and scale-up particulate manufacturing processes, in particular agglomeration, particle coating, fluidized bed processes, spraying and spray-drying, and compaction.
Following a PhD from the University of Queensland and postdoctoral work in powder technology at Monash University, Rachel joined the University of Sheffield as a lecturer in 2012. Rachel joined the CMAC team in 2017, and contributes to developing mechanistic understanding and computational models of particulate processes and product performance.
