Rachel Feeney

Rachel is the X-Ray Scientist in the National Facility and helps to operates and manages a range of 10 X-Ray instruments, 6 XRPD instruments, two single crystal X-Ray diffractometers, one Xenoxs Xeuss 2.0 miniature beamline for small angle X-Ray Scattering (SAXS), and a 500nm pixel resolution CT scanner.
With a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh, Rachel graduated in 2022 after spending a year abroad in Austria working with amorphous ice phases and using powder X-Ray diffraction methods to characterise and analyse various polymorphs of ice. Rachel joined CMAC in the Technology and Innovation Centre at Strathclyde University as part of the National Facility team as an X-Ray scientist in 2022.
