Murray is the CMAC Hub Research Fellow responsible for developing the CMAC digital platform. This involves constructing digital workflows, creating new data structures for research data, promoting digital awareness with the research community. Murray is also involved in several other CMAC aligned projects including ARTICULAR, DDAP and Made Smarter Innovation | Digital Medicines Manufacturing Research Centre (DM²).

Murray completed his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Glasgow in 2009. Since then, he has held several post-doctoral positions at the University of Strathclyde and the University of Sydney with a broad scope of research interests. These include molecular docking and virtual screening, medicinal chemistry, open-source science, and ICT development.
