DM² Webinars: Digital Transformation in Medicines Manufacturing
CMAC’s Digital Medicines Manufacturing research centre (DM²) is focused on enabling data-driven Industrial Digital Technologies (IDTs) to advance the way we develop, manufacture and supply medicines. Underpinning this research is a multitude of data , which comes in various formats from numerous instruments, process and activities.
In this webinar Dr. Tabbasum Naz from the DM² data research platform, discusses the importance of data for DM² and other projects in CMAC’s research portfolio. She explores the challenges of Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) data and standardisation of data across the industry. Tabbasum explains how this affects her research areas of ontologies, knowledge graphs and ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) tools, and the impact standardisation will have.
Joining Tabbasum is Dr. Ian Bruno, Director of Data Initiatives at CCDC - The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre, who shares his experiences defining and implementing standards in crystallography and chemistry with CCDC. Hear how the Crystallographic Information File (CIF) format was established, the role the CCDC played in its development and the steps taken for it to be widely adopted,. Learn about the impact and benefits this has had on research and the development of other chemistry data standards, and how standardisation may help you.
