Suruthi Gnanenthiran
PhD Researcher
The University of Sheffield
Suruthi is investigating the mechanisms behind agglomeration in agitated dryers to be able to develop tools that can be useful for the successful scale-up of agitated dryers. This is an EPSRC iCASE project with AstraZeneca and supervised by Dr Rachel Smith and Prof Jim Litster.
Suruthi completed her integrated Master’s in Chemistry at the University of Bath in 2020, where her MChem project focused on the synthesis of pharmaceutical co-crystals of the phenylpropanoid family, under the supervision of Professor Chick Wilson. She then worked as a research assistant in the chemical engineering department at the University of Bath under Dr Bernardo Castro Dominguez, focusing on new biodegradable food packaging materials that would lengthen the shelf life of climacteric fruits.
