Megan Blaney

Project Scientist

University of Strathclyde

Megan is a Project Scientist contributing to the delivery of Platform 3 within the EPSRC MediForge: Industry 5.0 Medicines Manufacturing Research Hub. Her work focuses on the development and integration of a reconfigurable manufacturing research testbed to support resilient medicine supply chains. This includes the operation of modular testbeds that combine close-coupled continuous and batch processing systems across the full manufacturing continuum—from chemical synthesis and purification to drug product manufacture.

Megan graduated in 2022 with an MChem in Chemistry with Drug Discovery from the University of Strathclyde. During her degree, she completed a 12-month industrial placement at a pharmaceutical CRO, gaining experience in crystallisation process development and solid-state characterisation. Following graduation, she worked as a formulation development scientist at a pharmaceutical CDMO, and most recently served as a chemical safety advisor and analytical chemist, delivering analytical services within the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Glasgow.
