Javier Cardona
Lecturer, Chancellor’s Fellow
University of Strathclyde
Javier is a CMAC Associated Academic and Chancellor's Fellow in the Departments of Chemical and Process Engineering and Electronic and Electrical Engineering. His research aims at delivering better understanding of crystallisation processes through a combination of in-line multi-sensor monitoring and predictive multi-scale modelling. He actively supports the setup and operation of the DataFactory and the Quality by Digital Design (QbDD) framework at CMAC.
Javier first joined CMAC in 2016 as a Research Associate on the ICT-CMAC project where he developed intelligent decision support tools based on in-line particle characterisation methods for crystallisation processes. Before starting his academic career, Javier worked on the application of Machine Learning and Deep Learning methods in several fields including environmental monitoring, precision agriculture and medicines manufacturing.
