Isra' Ibrahim

PhD Researcher

University of Strathclyde

Isra’ is a PhD researcher at CMAC working on understanding the long-term physical stability of oral solid dosage forms by characterizing the composite materials at short (micro) scales and studying the link between material attributes, the temporal nano- and microstructural evolution of tablets and their effect on the in-vitro drug release kinetics to enable modelling and prediction of emergent time-dependent physicochemical changes. Isra’ will focus on developing a smart experimental planning procedure for accelerated stability assessment protocols to identify optimal storage conditions and time points that maximise the predictability of models while minimising material and development time.

Isra’ earned her undergraduate Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Jordan (JU) and subsequently pursued her master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, focusing on using natural products to address bacterial resistance developed against antimicrobial agents. After that, she spent 3 years as a lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences/JU. In March 2022, she moved to Glasgow and joined CMAC for her PhD.
