Hikaru Jolliffe

Digital Manufacturing Engineer

University of Strathclyde

Hikaru is the lead modeller in the CMAC team working on the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) project. He coordinates the modelling activities of colleagues in the CMAC team, and liaises with industry partners, chairing regular technical discussions. The modelling work involves development of novel approaches to predict unit operation performance in Continuous Direct Compression flowsheets using minimal experimentation.

Hikaru first joined CMAC in 2018 as a post-doc, after completing his PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh; his PhD topic was the techno-economic evaluation of continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing flowsheets. At CMAC he supported other projects and researchers with his modelling and coding knowledge. In 2019, he joined the MMIC project.
