London calling: CMAC are taking up residence at Scotland House

CMAC takes another step in fulfilling their strategic growth ambitions

29th April 2022, Glasgow, UK

CMAC Directors, Alastair Florence and Massimo Bresciani, in the new CMAC London Office, Scotland House.

CMAC today announces the exciting addition of the CMAC Central London Office to its site portfolio. From April 2022, CMAC is joining forces with Scotland House, London, UK, through its prestigious membership programme. Supported by the University of Strathclyde, this transformative new relationship marks an important step in supporting CMAC’s growth and delivering our 2021-2026 strategic ambition to extend the Centre’s geographical reach, from its research base at the Technology Innovation Centre in Glasgow City’s Innovation District.

Scotland House provides an excellent location in the heart of London, offering a  contemporary co-working environment for meetings and events where members can grow their operations and opportunities in London and beyond.

Over the last 10 years, building successful collaborations has been at the heart of CMAC’s success. At a time when the need to accelerate research and innovation in medicines development and manufacturing has never been more pressing, this development is a natural step in CMAC’s planned growth. As the Centre enters the next phase of our plans, opening our London office creates new opportunities to foster and build relationships with partners, collaborators and stakeholders that will both inform and maximise impact from our manufacturing research and precompetitive portfolio. The ability to hold CMAC meetings in London will not just enhance our connectivity across the UK and internationally but will also allow us to do so sustainably, using travel more efficiently to minimise greenhouse gas emissions.

I look forward to making more announcements in the very near future on further developments for the Centre. In the meantime, I invite colleagues new and old to Scotland House to meet with us to find ways to drive the adoption of advanced CMC development, digital technologies and sustainable manufacturing approaches to enable future drug substance and drug product supply.
— Professor Alastair Florence, CMAC Director

CMAC has already cultivated a strong global network of partners and collaborators. But by having a dedicated base in the UK capital, CMAC can benefit from the increased connectivity and access to global talent that the city offers. Being in London will offer different opportunities for CMAC to collaborate more closely with existing partners and key stakeholders and enable new connections that will accelerate innovation and translation in the medicines manufacturing sector, which CMAC is world leading.

I am thrilled that CMAC has expanded into a Central London office, presenting an invaluable gateway into all that the capital city offers. Building on our strong global network, CMAC’s physical presence in London will afford unparalleled opportunities to accelerate innovation, further hastening translation to industry and increasing value for our partners and collaborators.
— Massimo Bresciani, CMAC Industry Director
